Job Posting:  Experienced Bookkeeper

Our growing and well-respected Certificated Public Accounting firm is currently seeking an experienced Finance Manager/Bookkeeper for our office located in Port Orchard, Washington.  If you are passionate about accounting, and you are seeking a boost in both your professional and personal growth, consider joining the Southard, Beckham, Atwater & Berry, Certified Public Accounting team.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • QuickBooks use and knowledge
  • General financial accounting / bookkeeping
  • Chart of accounts setup and maintenance
  • Setup and maintain vendor accounts
  • Review vendor invoices for accuracy and approval
  • Generate checks to pay invoices
  • Categorize, balance and enter credit cards into QuickBooks
  • Payroll – prepare quarterly payroll returns, 941’s, state unemployment and disability, year-end IRS 940s and W-2s
  • Process Forms 1099s and 1096
  • Prepare state/city income, sales and use tax returns as applicable
  • B&O tax returns and any other monthly or quarterly reports
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Financial statements understanding and preparation - profit & loss/balance sheet
  • Month end closing and reconciling
  • Assist CPA gathering tax information
  • Assist CPA/pension administrator with pension census preparation
  • Evaluate and analyze business and accounting operations
  • Communicate and coordinate with accountants

Job Posting:  CPA with 2 – 5 Years’ Experience

Our growing and well-respected Certified Public Accounting firm is currently seeking CPA with 2 to 5 years of experience for our office located in Port Orchard, Washington.  If you are passionate about accounting, and you are seeking a boost in both your professional and personal growth, consider joining the Southard, Beckham, Atwater & Berry, Certified Public Accounting team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review individual income tax returns
  • Prepare and review business income tax returns
  • Prepare and review payroll and sales tax returns
  • Analyze client accounting and assist with preparation of adjusting entries for their internal financial statements
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

Sillls/Qualifications:

  • High levels of intelligence, integrity, honesty, motivation and aptitude for the profession
  • Licensed as a Certified Public Accountant
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple work assignments and projects
  • Ability to work extended hours during tax season and quarter end months
  • Recognize when assistance is needed and ask for help promptly
  • Excellent communication and grammer skills are a must
